Coastal Cottage Before & After Bedroom

The Lovely bedroom! I did my "magic" ( as Mr Studio Tree likes to call it) Spackling on this wall. We eventually decided to take out the very attractive wall heater, and install mini split ac/heat units in each unit. So of course there was another giant hole that needed my "magic"!
The beautiful gray carpet was pulled up and then the glue was scraped off. Not fun!
Oh the ceiling fan with the inch thick dust...how I don't miss that!
This is what it looked like when we pulled the paneling off the walls .It had been glued onto the cinder block walls.
Yum. (notice the air freshener on the windowsill! Like we thought that was going to help!lol)
We scrubbed the walls with bleach, and then painted the walls with Drylok , a waterproofing paint that is super fantastic. We have used it many times.
We studded out the walls with furring strips, or should I say Dave studded out the walls! They had to be installed with a hammer drill &  tapcon screws, and there was no way I could get them into the walls!
Then we cut foam insulation panels , and put them in between the strips .

Then we cut and installed the drywall and more "magic" happened:)
Then we painted
Put lots of storage in the closet.
Installed laminate flooring from Lumber Liquidators (okay this isn't the same room but I wanted to give you an idea of the steps involved)
